Community Partnerships
The Angelina Arts Alliance is proud to share thriving partnerships with the City of Lufkin and Angelina College in furtherance of its mission to enrich, entertain and educate.
Since 2001 the Temple Theater, on the Angelina College Campus, has served as its primary venue for presenting the best high-quality, diverse performing arts, and educational programs. This 898-seat, state-of-the-art theater was the vision of Mr. Buddy Temple to bring the best-performing arts possible for everyone in Lufkin/Angelina County to enjoy.
Angelina College benefits greatly from this partnership with backstage learning opportunities for its theater students, discounts for faculty/staff, free tickets for all current AC students, and much more.
The Pines Theater, in the heart of downtown, was beautifully renovated by the City of Lufkin in 2013. As the Angelina Arts Alliance continued to grow, so did its reach in the community. In 2019, the Angelina Arts Alliance formed a partnership with the City of Lufkin to program and manage this historic theater. The Pines serves as the downtown centerpiece for great entertainment, movies and much more.
In 2020, the Arts Alliance moved its offices downtown after being housed at the Temple Theater for 20 years.
Today the Arts Alliance still hosts a wide array of high-quality performing arts at both theaters. These partnerships allow the Angelina Arts Alliance to continue its 20-plus-year legacy of improving the quality of life in deep East Texas and providing cultural experiences that cannot be found anywhere else in the region.
