ABOUT JAZZ MUSIC:
Jazz music embodies and puts into esthetic action, the most noble of our democratic ideals and aspirations, requires great creativity, expressivity and physical and mental agility of all its practitioners, is inclusive and accessible to all, and is a stylistic amalgam of the many diverse cultural traditions that comprises our national identity. At its best, like all great art, jazz music turns a mirror on us all and shows us just how beautiful we all are.
Established in 1994, JazzReach is a nationally recognized, NYC-based, 501c3 not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to the promotion, performance, teaching and creation of jazz music. Through the presentation of our engaging signature educational performances for young audiences, clinics and masterclasses for student musicians and lecture-demonstrations, panel discussions and MainStage concerts for general audiences, the organization is passionately committed to fostering a greater appreciation, awareness and understanding of our nation’s rich jazz tradition.
Since the premiere of its debut program in 1997, JazzReach has successfully positioned itself as the leading provider of live educational programming on the subject. Its programs have triumphantly served and impacted the lives of over a half-million students nationwide in partnership with many of the country’s most distinguished performing arts presenters and garnered unanimous praise from arts professionals, educators, students, parents, the media and the jazz community alike.
The organization typically presents more than 50 performances of its signature programs and services in more than 25 U.S. communities every year and serves more than 30,000 people of all ages annually. More info: http://www.jazzreach.org
