Lufkin, TX- John Denver and Dan Fogelberg come alive through music director, featured artist, and two-time Tony nominated actor Bob Stillman and his flawless repertory band of first rate New York and Nashville musicians. COUNTRY ROADS: The Music of John Denver and Dan Fogelberg, is a must see at 7:30 pm on Saturday, August 27th at the Temple Theater. Tickets are still available through the box office and can be purchased in person or by calling 633-5454. Tickets are half-price one hour before each performance.
“I like to share with audience the history of the songs, as well as how they touched my life personally. The music and lyrics tell a beautiful story”, says Stillman. Bob is a long-time singer/actor who co-starred on Broadway with Christine Ebersole in the acclaimed musical "Grey Gardens." Playing the role of George Gold Strong, real life friend and accompanist to Big Edie Beale, Bob had the opportunity to combine his piano playing, acting and singing in a brilliant new piece of theater.
Born in New York City, Bob studied piano and composition at the Juilliard and Manhattan Schools beginning at age 9. He went on to graduate with honors in music from Princeton. His other New York stage credits include Molina in "Kiss of the Spider Woman" (opposite Vanessa Williams), and the dying singer/songwriter in the cult off-Broadway hit "The Last Session."
Located on the Angelina College Campus in Lufkin, the Temple Theater begins seating at 7:00 pm. Showtime is 7:30 pm. Tickets ($31-$40) are still available.
