Temple Theater Glows on Saturday

Visual magnificence and a heartwarming tale come together in one of the most unique performances ever to come to Lufkin. A Glow-In-The-Dark Dinosaur Adventure, arrives at the Temple Theater on Saturday January 22nd at 2:30pm. Tickets for this special family matinee ($5-$10) are on sale at the Temple Theater box office M-F noon-5:30pm, or you can purchase by phone at 936-633-5454. Tickets are also available at the door, but if you purchase your tickets before Saturday you will receive one free child’s ticket for every one purchased….that’s two for one! The show is recommended for children 7 and older and their families. A Glow-In-The-Dark Dinosaur Adventure is sponsored by Popeyes.
A Glow-In-The-Dark Dinosaur Adventure tells the story of Professor Henslow, a magical scientist who builds a living dinosaur from scratch. After teaching the dinosaur to walk, the scientist realizes that his newest creation is extremely life-like—predatory instincts and all! In order to save his life and the life of others, Professor Henslow sets upon the task of creating a heart for the dinosaur so that it may learn compassion. His plan works, and the Professor and dinosaur form a loving bond. To tell the story, creators Corbin Popp and Ian Carney have developed an array of creatures and characters , using flexible electroluminescent wire, that are manipulated by their hands and bodies in a blackout setting. At the end of the show audience members are invited to stay for a peek at how the creatures are brought to life, and ask their most curious questions.
