STOMP an ‘Off Broadway’ Favorite Coming to Lufkin

APRIL 2 & 3 at the Temple Theater

LUFKIN, TX. The Premier Series of the Angelina Arts Alliance 2012-13 Season will end with a BANG – and a SWOOSH – and a STOMP- – literally, when the National Tour of STOMP takes the stage at the Temple Theater April 2nd and 3rd, at 7:30 pm. A smorgasbord of sound & movement awaits you from this innovative and humorous show. An eccentric cast that does not utter one audible word – yet, communicates fluently with a combination of ‘beats’, facial expressions, and body movements, in the universal language of rhythm and sound. Watch as these talented percussionists construct their urban symphony with things that you can easily find around your house. They are constantly in motion, sweeping floors, swinging from above the stage as they hit and bang on everything in sight. Angelina Arts Alliance proudly presents STOMP, with tickets ranging from $40-$50 (Premium/Box $60) Children age 16 and younger are half price. The eight member troupe challenge each other as they unify, layer and weave beats which make you forget they are creating music from toilet plungers, Zippo lighters, garbage can lids, plastic bags, boxes of matches, rubber tubes, newspapers, water and yes – even the kitchen sink! STOMP delivers a high energy, joyous, playful experience wherever they go.
