There’s nothing like a rousing big band concert to trumpet in the Christmas spirit. Boston Brass and the All-Stars Big Band bring their unique brand of jazz and holiday fun to the Temple Theater Thursday, December 9th at 7:30pm. Tickets ($31-$40) are available at the Temple Theater box office. The box office is open weekdays noon-5:30, or you may purchase tickets by phone at 936-633-5454. The Temple Theater is located on the Angelina College campus in Lufkin. Boston Brass is sponsored by Lufkin Industries, Inc. and Angelina Radiation Oncology Associates. The performance on Thursday night features Boston Brass and a team of All-Star Brass players from around the world, blending their brand of humor and lively arrangements for a night of great music and boisterous fun. The 15-member ensemble features trumpets, trombones, French horns, tuba, and a swinging jazz rhythm section. The concert will highlight big band jazz arranger Stan Kenton’s Christmas Carols, along with other holiday favorites, including Most Wonderful Time of the Year, The Nutcracker Dances, Greensleeves, and White Christmas. Boston Brass and the All-Star Brass Big Band lights up the stage with an energy and excitement that will have you ensconced in the Christmas spirit. It promises to knock your Christmas stockings off!
