Lufkin, TX- When RIOULT Dance/ New York comes to Lufkin, modern dance choreographer Pascal Rioult (ree-you) will offer our community a variety of different dance interpretations. So much so, that on Saturday, September 17th, RIOULT’s matinee performance will differ from the evening show. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available at the Temple Theater Box Office. The matinee performance of, "Small Steps, Tiny Revolutions" will be performed with local children dancers who auditioned on August 13th. The children who were cast will play the fantastical creatures in the main character’s dream-like world. Pascal Rioult, choreographer and artistic director of the company, said that having the children perform alongside the professionals in his company is his favorite part of the piece. "I love the fact that the kids are creating this imaginary world that only kids can believe is real," Rioult said. "Little children can guide adults in the imagination because as you grow, you get in touch with real things and you lose this ability to dream."
After the performance the audience is invited to a talk-back with Pascal Rioult and his company to answer your questions.
The evening performance, which is part of the premiere series, will feature ballets set to well-known classical compositions with new modern-dance choreography.
Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, August 17th at the Temple Theater Box Office located on the Angelina College Campus. The matinee and evening performance are both Saturday, September 17th.
