Fiddler on the Roof Celebrates Tradition!

 Lufkin, TX- FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is the Tony Award-winning musical which has captured the hearts of people all over the world with its universal appeal. Presented by Angelina Arts Alliance, the National Tour of this timeless classic comes to the Temple Theater on Saturday, January 14 for two performances, a matinee at 2:30 and an evening performance at 7:30 pm. No other musical has so magically woven dance, music, poignancy, and laughter into such a moving and unforgettable experience. Tickets are $40-$50 ($60 Premium) at the Temple Theater Box Office (936.633.5454). The Box Office will be closed December 23rd through January 2nd for the holidays. Tickets can be purchased online at angelinaarts.org.  The Temple Theater is located on the Angelina College campus in Lufkin. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem and takes place around 1910 in a small Ukrainian village affected by a unique moment in history filled with uncertain times. The stories talk about the appeal and importance of tradition and the struggle of maintaining tradition in a rapidly changing world. The national tour cast features John Preece, as Tevye the poor milkman and father of five daughters, whose life gets complicated as he seeks to find suitable husbands for them amidst the turmoil and political upheaval all around him.

The score of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF reads like a list of Broadway’s greatest hits. ‘If I were a Rich Man’, “Sunrise, Sunset’ and ‘Matchmaker, Matchmaker’ are all touching and familiar songs.
