Hold on to your seats…there’s a Band in the house! Drumline LIVE! is a real-life marching band powerhouse. Now 40 members strong, they’re bringing their pageantry and showmanship to the Temple Theater stage Thursday, October 21st at 7:30pm. Tickets ($31-$40) are virtually sold out. But there’s still hope! Any tickets returned by season subscribers will be sold for half-price one hour before the show at 6:30pm. And if you follow the Arts Alliance on Facebook there are ticket giveaways for every event. That’s a great way to see a sold-out show, especially if you’re on a budget. The Temple Theater is located on the Angelina College campus in Lufkin. Drumline LIVE! is sponsored by Memorial Health System of East Texas and the City of Lufkin. Tenth Anniversary Season Sponsor is Temple-Inland.
The cast of Drumline LIVE! features 40 talented and accomplished musicians who attended Florida A&M University, Clark University, Norfolk State University, Tennessee State University and other Historically Black Colleges and Universities. They have honed their skills and joined this rousing army of glitter and funk, precision and speed that is inspiring music lovers worldwide. The show combines a bit of African rhythms, American Soul, and a Big Band sound you won’t soon forget. Add some Funky Footwork, a dose of the Gospel, a tribute to the King of Pop, and the Ultimate Drum Battle, and you’ve got the recipe for an explosive evening of entertainment!
For those who may enjoy the historical roots of the show-style marching band movement, and the creation of the live show, there will be a pre-performance talk and Q&A with the creative team in the Temple Theater lobby at 6:15pm before the show.
