If you love the timeless melodies of the romantic songs of the 1970’s, you’ll love Country Roads with Bob Stillman.   It features songs from two of the decade’s favorite music makers; John Denver and Dan Fogelberg. The performance comes to town on Saturday, August 27th at the Temple Theater located on the Angelina CollegeCampus in Lufkin. Showtime is 7:30pm.  Tickets ($31-$40) are available beginning Wednesday, July 27th at the Temple Theater box office, open weekdays 11:00am-5:00pm, or you may purchase tickets by phone at 936-633-5454.    Country Roads is sponsored by A Friend of the Arts and KTRE-ABC-9. Multi-talented singer/pianist and two-time Tony Award nominee Bob Stillman – along with his band—pay tribute to the music of John Denver and Dan Fogelberg and their most celebrated songs.  Hits like “Leaving on a Jet Plane”, Annie’s Song”, Same Old Lang Syne”, and of course, “Take Me Home, Country Roads” are sure to be audience sing-alongs.

Bob Stillman has lit up some of New York’s Broadway theatres as writer, musician and actor. He’s been nominated twice for Tony Awards - first as actor, composer and onstage pianist in “Dirty Blonde,” and later as one of the songwriters for “Urban Cowboy.” He has also appeared in “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” and “Grey Gardens” opposite Christine Ebersole. His 2011 CD “Come Down Angel,” combines folk-rock, jazz, pop, and classical influences to create a style that is deeply personal, intimate, sophisticated, and emotionally rich.
