Iconic Manhattan Transfer’s Christmas Concert Delivers a COOL YULE

Onstage December 16 at Temple Theater

 Lufkin, TX- Experience beloved Christmas songs in a rare Texas performance by Manhattan Transfer on the Temple Theater stage Friday, December 16^th at 7:30 pm. Hear “Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire…” in the unforgettable style that makes Manhattan Transfer a platinum selling, world-wide chart topping super group. Tickets are $40-$50 ($60 Premium) at the Temple Theater Box Office (936.633.5454). The Temple Theater is located on the Angelina College campus in Lufkin.  The Manhattan Transfer made GRAMMY history in 1981 by becoming the first group to win GRAMMY’s simultaneously in both the Jazz and Pop categories. They released the second most honored album in pop history in 1985 with Vocalese, earning an impressive 12 GRAMMY nominations and surpassed only by Michael Jackson’s Thriller at the time. Widely renowned for broadening the musical landscape with their innovative, genre defying sound, the jazz/pop vocal group is responsible for broadening the horizons of music lovers everywhere.  The old school hipsters remain a major staple within both the jazz community and the mainstream music community by continuing to bring different genres of music to the forefront of jazz. 

The Manhattan Transfer quartet is Tim Hauser, Cheryl Bentyne, Alan Paul and Janis Siegel. After 40 years of performing together this timeless group remains a major staple both within the jazz community and the mainstream music community, as they continue to enlighten listeners by bringing different genres of music to the forefront of the jazz/pop category.
