Comedian PAT HAZELL Coming to Lufkin Nov. 23 – Tix on Sale
“See The Wonder Bread Years any chance you get.”
LUFKIN, TX. Tickets are on sale now for a heartwarming and humorous comedic salute to baby boomers and pop culture as Pat Hazell shares his hilarious remembrances of THE WONDER BREAD YEARS, Saturday November 23rd, 7:30 pm at the Temple Theater. The show is a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud comedy that gracefully walks the line between stand-up comedy and theatre. What started as a PBS special - quickly morphed into a national tour, and now in its twentieth year, feels as fresh as ever. Presented by the Angelina Arts Alliance, tickets for THE WONDER BREAD YEARS are $24-$31 ($41/Premium). Goodwin-Lasiter, Inc., Scott & Strong, Architects, Urgent Doc, and Popeyes are the show sponsors. 2013-2014 Season Sponsors are Lufkin Industries, Inc., and Memorial Health System of East Texas.
Funnyman, Pat Hazell, writer and sole performer in the show, is a veteran stand-up comedian and playwright, but most significantly -- one of the original writers for NBC’s Seinfeld. Pat wrote THE WONDER BREAD YEARS about growing up in the ‘Twister’ generation, making references to things many of us know and remember: the Kellogg’s cereal box you could turn into a bowl, family vacations to nowhere, and baloney and Velveeta sandwiches. America has seen Pat on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and Jay Leno. Showtime declared Pat Hazell, “One of the Five Funniest People in America.”
Join audiences across the country who have taken this nostalgic sojourn with Pat Hazell, as he restores a much-needed sense of wonder, and leaves theater-goers laughing and savoring the past like never before. Says Pat Hazell: “THE WONDER BREAD YEARS is for everyone who remembers a time when Spam was considered actual food. Fortunately, it’s also for everyone who can’t remember Spam as edible, but who appreciates it in a punch line”.
