Cherryholmes - Last Appearance in Texas

After more than a decade of performing together, the dynamic bluegrass band Cherryholmes is bidding a fond farewell. Their last performance in Texas will be at the Temple Theater Saturday, February 5th at 7:30pm. Tickets ($27-$35) are available at the Temple Theater box office, open weekdays noon-5:30, or you may purchase tickets by phone at 936-633-5454. The Temple Theater is located on the Angelina College campus in Lufkin. Cherryholmes is sponsored by Urgent Doc and The Lufkin Daily News. Tenth Anniversary Season Sponsor is Temple-Inland.
Jere Cherryholmes, the leader and father of the celebrated bluegrass group, posted this farewell to their fans on their website; “Many of you have watched us from the beginning. You've seen our children grow into young adults. Though it is bittersweet, there comes a time in a family when seasons change. We've always known this season would come. Now that it has, we believe it is only right that our young folks be allowed to follow their own dreams and goals for the future.”
Nearly twelve years ago, God sent their family on an amazing adventure. They’ve traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, playing the bluegrass music they created and loved. They’ve made true and lasting friendships along the way, received several Grammy nominations and Entertainer awards. And were honored by regularly performing on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Arts Alliance Executive Director Rick Schiller says, “We are very fortunate to be a part of their “Farewell Tour” and hope you will be there to share it with us.” After their performance at the Temple Theater on February 5th, their final performance will be May 7th at Houstonfest in Galax, Virginia. Jere Cherryholmes said, “We hope to see you there or somewhere down the trail.”
