In a legendary musical career that spans more than five decades, Glen Campbell, the original Rhinestone Cowboy, brings his talents to the Temple Theater. Tickets go on sale August 23rd and promise to be a sell out. The concert takes place at the Temple Theater Thursday, September 23rd at 7:30 pm. Tickets ($36-$45) are on sale at the Temple Theater Box office, beginning Monday August 23rd. Box office hours are weekdays noon-5:30, or you can order tickets by phone at 936-633-5454. The Temple Theater is located on the Angelina College campus in Lufkin. Glen Campbell is sponsored by the T.L.L. Temple Foundation. Our Tenth Anniversary Season Sponsor is Temple-Inland.
Glen Campbell topped the country and pop music charts in the 1960’s and 70’s singing songs about life, love, work, and heartache. But becoming a bonafide living legend isn’t as easy as he makes it look. First, you have to have a solid foundation of talent on which to build – like being one of the hottest guitar players in the world. Then you have to record songs that will stand the test of time – standards such as “By The Time I Get To Phoenix”, “Wichita Lineman” and “Galveston.” And of course, to be a “living” legend, you need to survive the harsh reality of a celebrity lifestyle. Glen has done it all. It certainly doesn’t hurt to have a witty, bantering stage style that draws fans like college students to Daytona Beach, or a hit television show viewed by 50 million people every week for three years. When you put it all together, the result is a career that spans five decades and fans that cross generational lines. In other words: Glen Campbell.
Glen Campbell’s accolades as a musician and singer are as impressive as his talent. People magazine says “The Rhinestone Cowboy remains a strong, robust voice after all these years.” Angelina Arts Alliance is thrilled to bring this country pop legend to the Temple Theater.
Tickets are on sale Monday, August 23rd at the Temple Theater box office. Call early for the best seat selection: (936) 633-5454. For more information, visit www.angelinaarts.org or follow us on Facebook.
